Learn to Live to Learn- It's Your Turn!

Tällberg Forum 2007 calls for Chinese youth delegates

Tällberg Forum, which will take place in Tällberg, Sweden from 28 June to 1 July 2007, would like to invite 5 Chinese youth delegates to gain experience from this great international event and to make contribute to this significant global forum! As an innovative global meeting, strongly applauded by Kofi Annan and Al Gore, it is promised to be a precious opportunity for Chinese Youth to learn more about the world while for the world to have an opportunity to learn more about the future of China.

About Tällberg Forum 2007

This unique yearly event brings together 400 leaders and their families from around the world and from various sectors of society in the small Swedish village of Tällberg to talk about, reflect upon and work on the challenges and opportunities that stem from global interdependence. The Tällberg Forum is an innovative global meeting that has succeeded in creating an atmosphere of honesty, warmth and creativity in which the arts and nature make up an integral part of the process.

The theme of Tällberg Forum 2007 will be: How on earth can we live together? Learn to Live to Learn. The 2006 Forum left no doubt that the imbalance in the energy ¨C economy-environment equation is systemic. Compounded local problems and activities have created acute global thresholds that demand a thorough systems understanding. This requires a massive mind shift.

In 2007 the Forum design will include, alongside plenary sessions, a number of parallel Tracks on critical global issues. Each track will explore the need for major systems adaptation. How can we make global environmental issues governable? How do we design interdependent sustainable solutions for individual livelihoods and communities? How can we achieve radical energy efficiency in production and logistics? Workshops will explore how we can adapt our specific fields of work to the ecological realities. All sessions will point to the final session: "What can I do?" How will I adapt my own personal and institutional activities? What actions do I recommend?
